“I am committed to making patients feel important and heard. My values in medical practice include holistic healthcare, offering the most up-to-date medical treatments and advice, and patient-doctor joint decision making.
You can expect efficient support if you have a quick illness. If you are establishing a more long-term relationship with me I will be very interested in learning your story. Where you come from, where you live, and what you do for work and physical fitness are so important to health! I also sometimes ask questions of patients that are easy to see in their medical records, such as, ‘What medical problems you have had in the past?’ This isn’t because I can’t read it for myself. It is because I want to hear patients’ perspectives and check their understanding. Sometimes establishing care takes a few visits to make sure all issues have been addressed and have action plans.”

Personal Interests
I grew up in Minnesota and have a large extended family in Minnesota. In my spare time I take Spanish lessons via Skype with a teacher in Nicaragua and enjoy using small kitchen appliances to cook for my family. I live with my husband, two kids, and yellow lab. We are very involved in our local church and enjoy spending time outside at regional parks and on the North Shore. I play the piano and the bassoon, though not as much as I would like, as I am busy with my young kids. My favorite athletic activities are hiking, biking, playing tennis, and cross country skiing. I try to jog regularly and do a few 5Ks each year for the health benefits but am not a fast runner.
