Stellis Health Shares Important Information about the COVID-19 (coronavirus)

The potential spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) within the United States remains a rapidly evolving situation. Stellis Health is closely following guidance provided by the MN Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and will share updates as they become available. As trusted medical providers in our community, we want to deliver a consistent message and sound medical advice. Whether we are talking about typical (and usually minor) infections or something new in our community, these same basic rules apply:

  • Hand washing/hand sanitizing is still the best way to limit the spread of infection – even for respiratory illnesses
  • Adults and children with fevers should stay home from school, work or other public activities
  • Adults and children with fever and mild respiratory symptoms, such as runny nose and cough, should be advised to stay home, treat symptoms with rest, fluids, and Tylenol/NSAIDs, and limit their exposure to others
  • Adults and children with fever and severe respiratory symptoms, such as cough with shortness of breath, should be advised to seek care at an Emergency Department
  • Adults and children with fever and non-respiratory symptoms such as sore throat, diarrhea or abdominal pain, should be advised per our usual recommendations, including an office visit or Urgent Care
