Laser Hair Removal

Laser Hair Removal

We can give you the smooth skin you’ve always wanted

We all have hair on our bodies that we wish we didn’t have. From arms to legs and many things inbetween, we spend hours shaving, waxing, and removing that unwanted hair.

But there is a better way …

A non-invasive treatment to remove unwanted hair, laser hair removal leaves your skin looking and feeling smoother and softer. Controlled pulses of light produce heat that is absorbed by the hair pigment and destroys hair follicles.

Large areas found on the back, shoulders, abdomen, and legs are treated rapidly while smaller facial areas like the lip, chin, and beard can be treated in minutes. The laser affects only hair follicles in the growth phase so more than one treatment will be necessary. Laser hair removal is FDA-approved with no downtime and minimal pain and discomfort.

When will I see results?

Most people become 95 to 100% hair-free in treated areas in seven to 10 sessions. Intervals between sessions should be four to six weeks. In cases where no hair regenerates, the time between sessions can be longer.

How long do results last?

Hair is gone forever.

What areas are treated?

What can I expect from the procedure?

  • Light or white hair does not respond well to laser hair removal. Currently all laser manufacturers are looking for ways to improve light hair reduction.
  • Not all of your hair will be successfully treated the first time. Only the hair that is in its active growing phase will be affected by the laser. For instance, only 20% of leg hair is growing at a given time. The more treatments you receive the more hair will be removed as hair cycles from the inactive to the active growing phase.
  • Skin lotion is advisable to aid the exfoliation process. Up to two days after treatment the openings of hair follicles may secrete tissue liquid. This could result in “crusting”. This should be removed by normal washing and application of skin lotions.
  • It is possible that hairs are coming out up to seven to 10 days after treatment.  This is NOT regrowth!
  • The length of time to get good results depends on factors such as color of hair, metabolic rate of growth, density of hair, location of hair, etc.
  • To achieve a satisfactory result, six to eight treatment sessions may be required, on average.
  • Intervals between sessions should be four to six weeks. In cases where no hair regenerates, the time between treatments can be longer.

Are there any Do’s and Don’t I should be aware of?

   DON’T

  • Do Not bleach or wax your hair prior to treatment.
  • Do Not tweeze

   DO

  • Do shave the area to be treated a day or two before treatment.
  • Do minimize your sun exposure (and especially avoid tanning salons) after the treatment because your skin is very sensitive to light energy for the next few days. Also tan skin causes the laser to not notice the dark hair within the follicle.
  • Do call us with any concerns, especially if the treated area is continuing to show pain or redness after 48 hours.

What should I expect after treatment?

Some redness and slight swelling may be present in the area that has been treated. However, this should subside within a few hours. If any prolonged redness or swelling occurs, please consult your physician immediately. Keep the treated area clean, use at least SPF 40 sunscreen when going outdoors, and follow physician instructions carefully

Can all skin colors be treated?

Yes, all skin types from light to dark can be treated.

Can tanned skin be treated?

Yes, tanned skin can be treated safely. However, always inform your physician if you have been tanning, using tanning products, or have experienced prolonged exposure to the sun within the last three weeks. Your physician will then adjust your treatment regimen accordingly to give you the safest and most effective experience
