Position Summary: Licensed Practical Nurses are responsible for supporting providers in the coordination of patient care following established protocols within their scope of practice. 

Essential Functions  

  • Room patients
  • Vital signs, injections and immunizations, and specimen collections
  • Assist with office procedures, patient flow, and scheduling
  • Retrieve phone messages and respond to patient calls in a timely manner
  • Submit new prescription and refill requests
  • Update patient chart and transcribe information into EMR
  • Administer prescribed medications
  • Maintain exam rooms
  • Adhere to strict patient confidentiality guidelines

Education/Qualifications

  • Current Minnesota LPN license  
  • BLS/CPR certification required
  • EMR experience, Epic preferred

Position Summary: The RN, Triage position is responsible for providing professional nursing care for patients following established protocols within scope of practice. The RN will serve as the primary liaison between patients, providers, and clinical staff.  

Essential Functions

  • Triage incoming patient phone calls
  • Communicate with patients regarding test results and follow-up care coordination
  • Receive and process prescription refill requests
  • Assist with prior authorization process as needed
  • Monitor provider in-baskets
  • Obtain and submit lab orders
  • Serve as resource to clinical staff regarding medical information and patient assessment

Education/Qualifications

  • RN degree from an accredited school of nursing required
  • Current Minnesota RN license required
  • CPR certification required
  • Minimum of 1-year professional nursing in clinical setting preferred
  • EMR experience, Epic preferred

Position Summary: Certified Nursing Assistants are responsible for providing basic patient care tasks and administrative support under the direction of an LPN or RN.

Position Summary: The Medical Lab Technician is responsible for providing accurate laboratory services to support high quality patient care.

Essential Function

  • Greet patients
  • Collect specimens and samples
  • Perform routine medical laboratory tests
  • Quality control and calibration
  • Maintain lab equipment

Education/Qualifications

  • Medical Lab Tech (MLT) degree required

Position Summary: The Coding Specialist is responsible for reviewing both electronic and written documentation of clinical visits and assigning accurate diagnostic and procedural coding using ICD-10 and CPT -4 methodologies.

Essential Functions

  • Reviews provider documentation and assign codes that support service rendered.
  • Supports business office staff with claim denial appeals.
  • Monitors payer coding requirements to ensure billing compliance.
  • Serves as a point of contact for providers that have coding questions.
  • Performs level of service audits on random providers as assigned by Business Director.
  • Responds to patient inquiries that pertain to coding questions/disputes.
  • Keeps current on work queue assignments in EMR practice management system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of medical insurance claim process, provider billing, CPT and ICD-10 coding, and HIPAA
  • Understanding of payer contracts and compliance regulations
  • Strong investigative, information gathering, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Basic medical terminology knowledge.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Experience with EMR systems and Microsoft Office

  • High School Diploma and 1-3 years of medical business office experience
  • Successful completion of a coding program (AAPC/AHIMA)

Position Summary: The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for scheduling and obtaining prior authorizations and referrals for patient procedures and surgeries performed at outside facilities. Essential Functions
  • Accurate scheduling of inpatient and outpatient procedures and surgeries
  • Administer prior authorization and referral process to ensure maximum benefit coverage
  • Provide basic patient education regarding procedures

Position Summary:  The Insurance Specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate billing of dedicated patient accounts.

Essential Functions

  • Process, edit, and submit claims to insurance companies and other payers.
  • Verification of patient insurance coverage.
  • Track and collect accounts receivable.
  • Calculate insurance payments, patient payments, and adjustments to accounts.
  • Process and post payments.
  • Communication and correspondence with insurance carriers and other payers to ensure timely billing and follow up on unpaid claims.
  • Respond to patient inquiries and resolve billing, collection, and reimbursement issues.
  • Correct and resubmit claims for processing.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of medical insurance claim process, provider billing

  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, ICD-9 and/or ICD-10, co-pays, insurance deductibles and co-insurance.
