Why I love working at Stellis Health – it’s a bit lengthy… but I had too much to share:
I grew up in Monticello and have been a patient of the “Monticello Clinic” (what the clinic was called prior to being named Stellis Health) since I could remember. As a kid, I loved going to the doctor. The atmosphere of the Monticello Clinic made me feel comfortable. The staff was always nice, it was always clean, and I usually got a treat/reward when I was done; so, what kid wouldn’t like that? In fact, I remember being seen by many of the doctors that still work here today.
As I got older, my perception of the clinic didn’t change. I always had such admiration for the doctors and nurses. I knew from a young age that I wanted to help people and nurse became my dream job. I’ve always loved to learn, so shortly after I graduated as a nurse, I made the step to further my education. Nurse practitioner had become my new dream job. Knowing how comfortable I had always felt at the clinic, I made it a point to set up my clinical rotations there. My experience on the other side of the curtain was not any different. The clinical rotations at the Monticello Clinic were, by far, my favorite. As a student, everyone made me feel right at home. I never felt like a burden; I felt valued. There were even providers that would seek me out when they had something interesting to show. This was such a different experience than any I had as a student. My new dream job? Work at the Monticello Clinic!
When I had my interview at the Monticello Clinic. I met with the CEO, the HR director, and a few of the providers. I felt so welcomed and, again, right at home. I was hired and I couldn’t have been happier! I’ve been here over 6 years and I love this clinic and my job more every day.
There are numerous reasons why I love Stellis Health. I feel connected to this organization. I have developed many genuine and long-lasting relationships. The other day, I read an article on employee satisfaction. Companies have higher satisfaction rates when their employees feel: involved, important, valued, supported, challenged, trusted, appreciated, mentored, and empowered. Companies that can make their employees feel this way are truly special. Stellis Health is this company, I’ve felt that way from the start. I feel involved; there is great communication and opportunities for extra involvement. I feel important and valued; there is frequent staff recognition. I feel supported; I can ask any provider (or any other staff) any question and I don’t feel like a bother. I feel challenged and trusted; I have autonomy with my practice. I feel appreciated; I’ve received thank you notes from co-workers and frequent verbal gratitude. I feel mentored; the providers here have a vast wealth of knowledge and I am so grateful they are open to sharing it with me. I feel empowered; the frequent positivity I get from patients and co-workers is extraordinary.
Stellis Health is unique and stands out from the big health care organizations. This clinic has been caring for this community for decades. The patients love the small town feel of this clinic and so do I. I truly feel like Stellis Health is family and I look forward to going to work every day. I love my job and I love Stellis!

I feel so thankful, knowing that I can be here to greet patients and hopefully make their day brighter. There will always be sickness and pain in this world, but I’m grateful that I’m one of the people who get to sit up front and welcome patients into our facility, knowing they will be cared for by our providers. Although I am not a medical professional, I am so happy that I get to be part of Stellis Health and proud to say that we do all we can to care for our community.
