Midwives care for women during pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum. Many women choose midwives because they desire natural childbirth and want a provider who will support options such as upright positions and alternative comfort measures in labor. Midwives view labor as normal and usually avoid intervention unless deemed necessary, consulting with obstetricians if complications arise. Midwives also provide well woman screening physical exams, address gynecologic concerns, and provide contraception.
Prenatal education classes are part of your prenatal care at Stellis Health. The two different classes will help prepare and educate you throughout pregnancy: one class in early pregnancy and the second in the early third trimester. Classes are offered bi-monthly at all three clinic sites at various times throughout the day. Feel free to schedule at whichever site best fits your schedule, regardless of the normal clinic site where you have your appointments. If you have any questions about these classes, please talk to your provider and they can help.
