Family Medicine Physician Cory Simning, MD, recently joined Stellis Health – Monticello Clinic. “We’re excited to welcome Dr. Simning to our medical staff and back to his hometown,” says Brent Wilde, CEO of Stellis Health. “He grew up in Big Lake and wanted to come back home to practice medicine.”
“I loved growing up here – the community is great and my family is nearby,” says Dr. Simning. “My approach to medicine is based on shared decision making and getting to know each other. I work together with my patients to figure out what is best for each individual based on their goals.” As a family medicine physician, Dr. Simning enjoys all areas of medicine but particularly pediatrics, geriatrics, sports medicine and mental health.
Dr. Simning received his medical degree at the University of Minnesota Medical School and completed his family medicine residency at the University of Minnesota in Mankato. His bachelor’s degree in biology is also from the University of Minnesota.
Board certified in family medicine, Dr. Simning is also certified to prescribe buprenorphine for the treatment of opioid use disorder. And, he has advanced cardiac and pediatric life support certifications. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, camping and almost anything outdoors, along with spending time with family and friends.
